Manal Omar - Author & Activist
Currently with USIP as Director of Iraq and Iran program, Manal has over fifteen years working in the field of women's rights, peacebuilding, humanitarian aid, and development. Manal Omar is dedicated to creating a safe space for dialogue on current events in the Muslim and Arab world on identity, civil society, and women's rights. She has developed a wide range of experience in several organizations, ranging from multilateral (UN and World Bank) to international non governmental organizations (Oxfam-GB and Women for Women International). She was named among Top 500 World’s Most Influential Arabs by Arabia Business Power in 2011, and among the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World by Georgetown University and The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre in 2009.
